INTERNATIONAL STUDENT CENTER
The SHNU International Students Center was specially built for overseas students who could take advantage of this two-storied building for studying, reading, leisure talks, recreation, body-building, and other interactive functions.
Surrounded by blossoms of attractive plants, the center can be regarded as a haven of overseas students to surf on the internet after learning for hours in the reading-room. Also, they could take a coffee break and grasp some snacks from the vending machine when they feel necessary to refresh themselves.
Moreover, there is a particularly designed room for table tennis players, snooker fans and treadmill users. On the second floor, there is a spacious room for free internet service by which students could obtain the information they need.

HEALTH AND MEDICAL CARE
Located on Xuhui Campus, SHNU hospital is the daily guarantee of students’ health. Students could be transferred to other hospitals for chronic conditions on some occasions.There is a school clinic on the main campus. For off campus medical care, it is recommended that you go to the International Health Center of Shanghai No. 1 People’s Hospital (585 Jiu Long Road; 6324-0090 ext. 2101). If you have oversea medical insurance, please bring it along. The Center is equipped with advanced medical facilities and doctors there can speak foreign languages.
SPORTS & ENTERTAINMENT
SHNU invest heavily in sporting facilities, ensuring that students have opportunities to take part in the sport that interests them. These facilities provide access to various sports ranging from football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, tennis, table tennis, billiard to swimming, martial arts, Sanshou and Taekwondo. A multitude of gyms and fitness centers also cater for various activities.
The sports filed on the west campus, holding a seating capacity of 1000.The Table Tennis Parlor on the west campus covers an area of 500 square meters and has 18 ping-pong tables.
TRANSPORTATION
A large supermarket Trustmart is 10 minutes’ walk and also quite a few bus lines are available to Tianlin Road, the closest commercial center to the university.
From Hongqiao Airport to SHNU: take an airport line to Shanghai railway station and change No. 1 underground to Caobao Road before stepping onto No. 43 bus, or just grab a taxi which would cost you less than 20 minutes for about 35 yuan RMB;
From Pudong Airport to SHNU: take an airport shuttle bus to Xujiahui stop before catching No. 43 bus to the university;
From Shanghai Railway Station to SHNU: ride No. 1 underground to Caobao Road before stepping onto No. 43 bus;
From South Railway Station: wise to take a taxi and 5 minutes would solve all.
From SHNU to People’s Square (where Chenghuangmiao, Shanghai Museum of Urban Planning, Shanghai History Museum, and the Bunds): take No. 43 bus to Caohejing stop and change No. 1 underground to People’s square.
